Aubrey Faith Rainey

Aubrey Faith Rainey was granted her angel wings while lying in her mother and father's arms, on August 26, 2015, at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. She fought a strong and brave fight with the rare pediatric liver disease known as biliary atresia. She had a successful liver transplant on August 16, 2015, but had unforeseen complications in the days following. Her final days were spent surrounded by the voices, the touch, and the thoughts of those who loved her beyond measure.
Aubrey was born to Andrew F. and E. Michelle Rainey on July 11th, 2012 in Jackson, MS.
She was preceded to her heavenly home by her paternal great grandparents Frank B. Smith, Jr. and Betty Sue Rainey, maternal great grandparents Charles B. Caruthers, Henry Farmer and Lorena L. Florio, and cousin Bentley Myles Rainey.
She is survived by her parents Andrew F. and E. Michelle Rainey of Duck Hill, MS, paternal grandparents Gregory R.C. and Pamela Smith Rainey of Duck Hill, MS, maternal grandparents Michael D. and Evelyn Caruthers Farmer of Grenada, MS, paternal great grandparents R.C. Rainey of Duck Hill, MS, Sarah W. Smith of Grenada, MS, and Lois J. Hammond of Coconut Creek, FL.
Paternal uncle Matthew (Vanessa) Rainey, aunt Krystina (Aaron) Chu, maternal uncles David (Emily) Farmer, Chris Farmer, Timothy (Cheryl) Farmer, Nathan (Judy) Farmer, paternal cousins Maddox Ayden Rainey, Berkley Hearin Chu, maternal cousins, Aidan and Alan Farmer, Gadge and Camille Farmer, Marie and Brenton Farmer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada, MS. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with services beginning at 7 p.m. McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home will be directing the service.
Guests are welcome to join the family in wearing bright colored clothing to celebrate Aubrey's life.
In honor and in memory of Aubrey, Texas Children's Hospital has created a research foundation in her name. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Texas Children's Hospital Liver Center, Aubrey Rainey Fund for Biliary Atresia Research, 1919 S.
