Mrs. Barbara Ann Chamblee Campbell, 87, of Grenada, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 25, 1939, in Grenada, Barbara was a lifelong resident of the community she held so dear. She was a proud graduate of John Rundle High School, where she was honored with the title of Most Beautiful — a recognition that reflected not only her outward beauty but the warmth and grace she carried throughout her life.
Barbara furthered her education at Jones Junior College before earning her undergraduate degree from William Carey College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She went on to achieve a Master's Degree in Education from Mississippi State University, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. She held a lifetime teaching certificate, a testament to her enduring dedication to the field of education.
A devoted educator, Barbara taught at Cumberland School in Webster County for eight years before joining the faculty at Kirk Academy, where she spent 25 years enriching the lives of countless students. When school was not in session, she continued her passion for nurturing young minds as a summer childcare teacher at Freeman's Little People's Place.
Barbara was a faithful and active member of Hebron Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and served as a beloved member of the choir. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she shared it generously with everyone she encountered.
Above all, Barbara was deeply devoted to her family, instilling in them a profound love for Jesus Christ. Her legacy of faith, education, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
