Ms. Barbara Jean King Easter, 78, of Grenada, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026. She was born November 6, 1947 in Durant to the late Virgil M. King and Flora M. Logan. She grew up in Mississippi in her early life before moving to North Carolina. Barbara worked many years in and around Grenada in the healthcare field as a PTA. She enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and family – especially her dog, Pixie.

Family and friends will gather from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Sunday, November 1, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will be held in the Grenada Memorial Garden with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating.

She is survived by her son, Thad Easter and daughter-in-law, Sabrina Easter of Sumner; grandsons, Andrew Easter and wife, Madeline Nicosia Easter of Ocean Springs and Aden Easter of Sumner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and aunts & uncles, Therman, Melvin, Vera and Virgil King.

The family would like to express a great debt of gratitude to all her friends and family that showed her love over the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
