Bernice Walter Wood, 100 years old of Grenada, died November 26, 2021 at Yalobusha County Nursing Home.  She was born September 13, 1921, to George and Ann Walter in Indiana. She moved to Grenada, Mississippi in 1945. She was a devoted mother to six children, giving unselfishly of herself while working at Pennaco Hosiery and taking care of her family. Bernice was an active communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grenada on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.  Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden.

Her survivors include four daughters, Miriam Honeycutt (Buddy) of Grenada, Jean Bennett (Billy) of Senatobia, Nancy Peacock (Scott) of Clarksdale, Margaret Terracina (Steve) of Greenville, two sons, David Wood of Grenada, Jim Wood (Pat) of Cleveland, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother.
