William Monroe Bingham

William "Bill" Bingham, age 86, passed from this life on Thursday January 9, 2025, at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar, Tennessee. Bill was born on August 14, 1938, in Grenada, Mississippi. He attended school in Grenada, Mississippi through the 11th grade, then graduated from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Bill also earned a degree from The University of Memphis.

Bill served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, then was employed with several insurance companies throughout his professional career. He was a member of the Heritage chapter of Eastern Star. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid square dancer. Bill loved playing board games and dominoes with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his sisters T. Jane Woods and Linnie Tyus, a sister-in-law Brenda Bingham, his brother and sister-in-law Todd and Julia Sherwood and many nephews and nieces. His parents James Gordon Bingham Sr. and Jesse Mae McKibben Bingham, his beloved wife Sidney Sherwood Bingham, a brother James Gordon Bingham II and a sister Julia Mae Boyd preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Grenada.  Family and friends will gather from noon until service time at McKibben and Guinn.
