Mr. William Marcus "Bill" Gray, 77, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at his residence.  He was born June 20, 1945 in Puckett to Walter and Louise Gray.  Bill, known to many as "Scooter", possessed a strong work ethic and enjoyed a successful 44-year career with Mississippi Valley Gas Company retiring as Customer Service Supervisor.  He also possessed a genuine desire to serve his country and retired as a 1 ^st Sergeant with the Mississippi Army National Guard.  Bill was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Jackson and had served in several capacities, including Deacon.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his animals.

Memorial service plans are private.

Survivors include his special friend, Eloise Headrick of Jackson; daughter, Wendy Whitten(Pete) of Grenada and two grandchildren, Presley Whitten and Branden Stubblefield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Buddy Gray.
