Obituary

Mr. Billy Ray Littrell, 89, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  He was born August 27, 1934 in Marks to Bill and Gloria Lynn Tedford Littrell.  Mr. Littrell honorably served our country in the US Army and was a member of the Grenada VFW Post 4488.  He enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years in banking.  He began his career at the Coahoma County Bank and soon joined the Grenada Banking System and ultimately retired from Union Planters Bank.  In years past he enjoyed hunting and loved to play golf.  He also enjoyed dancing and found great pleasure dancing on weekends at the VFW.  Above all, Billy will long be remembered as a devoted family man who never missed an opportunity to attend an activity that his grandchildren were in.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. John Goldwater officiating.  Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Grantham(Daryl) of Grenada and Lisa Haynes(Jamie) of Merigold; son, Mike Littrell(Mitzi) of Grenada; brother, Jimmy Littrell(Janice) of Clarksdale; eight grandchildren, Michael Littrell(Jaime), Jenny Gann(Andy), Chelsea Mims(Troye), Tara Grantham, Maggie Stidham(Taylor), Taylor Byford(Tori), Landon Wortham and Tripp Haynes; and five great-grandchildren, Sophie Mims, Troye Mims, IV, Blakely Stidham, Mari Byford and Eva Jean Byford.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean Littrell.

Taylor Byford, Andy Gann, Tripp Haynes, Michael Littrell, Troye Mims, III, Taylor Stidham and Landon Wortham will honor Billy by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be directed to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4488 in Grenada.
