Mr. Billy Joy Moore, 84, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at his residence.  He was born April 22, 1940 in Morgan City to David Frankland and Ethel Marble Moore.  Billy worked as a Forester with the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement and also served in the Mississippi Army National Guard.  He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church.  Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.  He also enjoyed piddling around the house and was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Pastor Michael Payton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Wednesday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his son, David Moore(Nikki) of Grenada; brother, James Moore of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Hunter Moore, Nicholas Permenter and Kaylen Holloway and three great-grandchildren.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Judy Moore; sister, Louise Lott and brothers, Grady and Eugene Moore.

Mark Barkley, Robert Bennett, Wayne Blount, Stephen Crenshaw, Russell Frazier and Bubba Moore will honor Billy by serving as pallbearers and carry him to rest in the Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery.
