William Kenneth "Bo" Jackson, age 71, of Oakland, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 12, 1946 in Yalobusha County to the late Henry Howard and Eleanor Mae Jackson. Bo enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and his logging career which spanned three decades and three generations. Bo was "Papa" to a host of people, related and not, and was a father figure to many. This included a number of nieces and nephews and multitude of other people to which Gail and Bo had opened their hearts and home throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Elam Baptist Church near Coffeeville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time Tuesday at Elam Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail Hardy Jackson; his two children, Ken Jackson and Amy Jackson Sewell (Jody) and eight grandchildren, Megan White, Steven Jackson, Ronald King, Dalton King, Hunter Jackson, Landon King, Faith Sewell and Mason Jackson; and three great-grandchildren. Bo is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Jackson (Mary Sue), Bobby Ray, and one sister, Patricia Rowland (Jimmy).
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Jackson; two sisters, Sue McCullough and Connie Duke; and one brother, Sonny Jackson.
Pallbearers include Dalton King, Landon King, Ronald King, Stevie Jackson and Donald Fillyaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bubba Martin, Steve Ramage, Rocky Magee and Mark Hartley.
