Mr. Glover Reed "Bob" Baldock, 90, of Grenada, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at his residence.  Bob was born in Lynchburg, VA on February 28, 1930.  He graduated from Lynchburg High School and enlisted in the US Air Force in 1949.  He started his career as an Air Traffic Controller.  He wanted to fly so he went to flight school.  Bob served in both Korea and Vietnam.  He flew 147 combat missions in Southeast Asia.  He retired from the USAF in 1969 with the rank of Major.  After retirement, he worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a pilot and division manager for 20 years.  Bob and Jean enjoyed golfing and traveling the world.  Bob was a Shriner and 32 ^nd degree Mason.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Glover Baldock, Jr. and Alice Tankersley Baldock; sister, Sally Baldock and his wife of 61 years, Jean Wells Baldock.

Survivors include one son, David Baldock of Houston, TX; one daughter, Nancy Carmical and her husband, Steve of Grenada; three grandchildren, Jason Carmical(Katie) of Diamond Head, MS, Alisha Ferguson of Coffeeville and Bryan Carmical of Grenada; 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 19, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Grenada.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to his caregivers Vo, Diana, Annie, and the staff at Kindred Care and Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Shriners Hospital, First United Methodist Church – Grenada, the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
