Coffeeville

Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Vance Hill, 79, of Coffeeville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, October 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so dearly.  Bobbie was born December 21, 1946, in Starkville, to Jimmy Lee Vance and Addie Mae "Bonnie" Baxter Vance. From an early age, she carried within her a tender heart and a servant's spirit that would come to define her entire life.

Bobbie dedicated herself to her role as a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Through the years, she also worked in several manufacturing jobs, bringing the same diligence and care to her work that she brought to everything she did.

Above all else, Bobbie was a faithful Christian woman who didn't just speak about God's love—she lived it, every single day. She found her greatest joy in cooking for others, and she generously shared her delicious food with shut-ins in her community, as well as with anyone else she loved. Her caramel cakes were simply the best, and anyone lucky enough to taste one never forgot it. Her kitchen table always had room for one more chair, because you never knew who might need a warm meal and a kind word.

Bobbie also had a green thumb that showed in her fabulous vegetable gardens each year. She took great pride in tending her plants, and she loved sharing the fruits—and vegetables—of her labor with family, friends, and neighbors alike.  Animals held a special place in Bobbie's heart as well. She never could turn away a stray, and over the years she opened her home to countless four-legged friends who needed love and a safe place to land—much like she did for people.

Bobbie's home was more than just a house—it was a refuge. Through the years, it became a safe haven for many who had fallen on hard times. She had a special gift for noticing "the least of these," and she made absolutely certain that no one in her life ever went without—whether they walked on two legs or four. Whether it was a meal, a listening ear, or simply a place to feel safe, Bobbie gave of herself freely and without hesitation.

She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where her love for God and for others was woven into every part of her life.

Bobbie's legacy is not measured in things, but in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering faith. She leaves behind a community made richer for having known her, and a family forever grateful for her example of what it means to truly love your neighbor.
