Mr. Bobby G. Carpenter, 79, of Gore Springs, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson.  He was born August 24, 1940 in Gore Springs to Robert Francis and Jenner Rose Taylor Carpenter.  He had worked for many years in construction and as a truck driver.  He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had served in the Mississippi National Guard.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Joey Faulk officiating.

Survivors include his son, Lester Carpenter (Rebecca) of Gore Springs; step-son, Stephen Jenkins of Memphis; one brother, Eddie Carpenter of Gore Springs; three grandchildren, Stephen Carpenter, Christopher Carpenter and Courtney Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Carpenter and Payton Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, LaRose White and Lynda Thames.

Pallbearers will be Austin Carpenter, Chad Carpenter, Christopher Carpenter, Dwight Carpenter, Stephen Carpenter, John Frazier, Johnny Ray Frazier and Tim Frazier.
