Mr. Harbin was a graduate of John Rundle High School, class of 1956 and was of the Baptist faith.

Bobby worked for Jitney-Jungle grocery store during Jr. High and High School. The owner, Al Gully, was a father figure and mentor who taught him high ideals to live by. He spent 30 years in every aspect of the automotive industry before retiring in 1987. He also started from scratch and owned several businesses in the automotive field. His interest was in learning more about the body – mind connection and how it affected us physically – mentally and emotionally. He attended several alternative health schools and became an advocate of healing by natural means in place of medication. He counseled on improving your health through nutrition and the proper supplements. When he acquired Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 62 his thirst for knowledge and research allowed him to keep it under control without prescription medication. He earned certification in several different arenas of natural healing and finally earned a Ph.D. degree at the age of 65 in Hypnotherapy. He was licensed in the states of Texas, Georgia and Mississippi.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and held several local and state offices. He was a charter member of the local Moose Lodge where he held several offices including the highest office of Governor.
