Mr. Robert Earl "Bobby" Howe, Sr., 67, of Grenada, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 13, 1947 in Grenada to E.B. Howe, Jr. and Mildred Noe Howe. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bobby was a retired shipping supervisor with Bowater in Grenada and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a former Grenada Youth League Baseball Coach and a devoted Ole Miss Rebel Fan. The greatest joy of his life was traveling and time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 3, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada with Dr. Bob Self and Dr. Brian Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Batesville-Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Scoggins Howe; two daughters, Christy Howe Vance (Joe) of New Albany and Michelle Howe Downs (Chris) of Grenada; one son, Robert Earl "Robbie" Howe, Jr.,(Amy) of Leland; seven grandchildren, Taylor and Reed Howe, Allie, Caleb and Drew Vance and Preston and Nelson Downs; his mother, Mildred Howe of Oakland; three sisters, Patricia Harbin and Linda Thompson, both of Batesville and Joyce Moore (Bobby) of Crowder; two brothers, Clifton Dale "Butch" Howe (Susie) of Coffeeville and Ethel Birt "Bubba" Howe, III (Leeann) of Tillatoba.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ethel Birt Howe, Jr.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
