SSG. Robert William Newton, Jr. (Ret), Bobby to his family and friends, 46, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.  He was born June 10, 1975 in Slidell, LA.  Bobby honorably served our country for 24 years in the US Army, Mississippi and Missouri Army National Guard as an Infantryman and Ranger retiring as a  Staff Sergeant.  Bobby earned numerous medals and commendations during his military service.  He was part of the Special Forces and served in three tours of duty to Iraq.  Before his 1st tour to Iraq, Bobby worked as a Deputy for the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office, in St. Tammany Parish, LA.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, April 1, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at the North Mississippi Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at Kilmichael.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Rachele Newton; mother, Kay Newton; two daughters, Alexi Newton and Abbie Jordan; two sons, Andrew Newton, Caleb Newton; stepson, Rafael DeLa Cruz; brother, Wesley Newton and sister, Brandy Deutsch and brother-in-law, Jared Deutsch and a granddaughter, Sage Newton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Newton, Sr.
