Mr. Bobby Gene Walters, 84, of Grenada, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his residence.  He was born May 20, 1939 in Yalobusha County to Dave and Clara Nelson Walters.  Bobby spent 22 years working for L.S. Hall and Sons in Grenada before going in business for himself.  Bobby opened Walters Truck Service in 1984 and the business continues to operate today.  He honorably served our country in the US Navy and was a member of Enon Baptist Church.  In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed deer hunting and previously enjoyed quail hunting also.  Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Billy Childs and Rev. Lynn Welch officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reedy's Chapel Cemetery in Calhoun County.  Family and friends will gather from 12:00 noon until service time Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jimmie Lou Walters; two sons, Tim Walters and Mark Walters, both of Grenada; four grandchildren, Travis Walters, Rachel Muse, Jeremy Armstrong and Zach Moore and three great-grandchildren, Benton Moore, Madilyn Davis and Ethan Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Wilson and Mary Lois Johnsey and three brothers, Earl, Oliver and Jack Walters.

Jason Hardin, Steve Hardin, Jeffrey Hoop, Greg Lewis, Eric Walters and Travis Walters will carry Bobby to rest in the Reedy's Chapel Cemetery.  Luke Hardin, J.A. Hoop, Phillip Lott, Kenneth Stokes, David Walters and Lewis Walters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
