IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobbye Sue
Miller
January 21, 1937 – December 12, 2020
Bobbye Sue Collins Miller, 83, of Grenada, Mississippi joined her Lord and Savior at home on the evening of December 12, 2020.
Bobbye Sue graduated from John Rundle High School in Grenada and married the love of her life, Gardner Eugene "Gene" Miller, on July 14, 1957; they were married just shy of 63 years before Gene's homegoing earlier this year.
Bobbye Sue enjoyed working at Grenada County Hospital and Sunburst Bank before having to leave for health reasons. Her health continued to deteriorate over the years but her heart for living and supporting her family and friends never ceased. Bobbye Sue will be remembered for many things not the least her quick wit, sweet spirit and warm heart.
Church had always been a big part of Bobbye Sue's and Gene's lives over the years. Bobbye Sue loved music and enjoyed singing alto in the choir. Most recent years they have been active members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, as well as Sunday School class until health prevented their attendance.
Bobbye Sue was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining whether it was at home or on the many fishing and camping trips with several close families from church. She enjoyed going on mission trips with the church. Bobbye Sue cherished time spent with her kids and grandchild. Bobbye Sue looked forward to her monthly Spa Day where a dear family member, Kaley Mabus, would visit and treat her.
Bobbye Sue is survived by her son, Calvin Gene Miller (Joy) and daughter Cindy Miller Bowers (James); grandson Jonathan Paul Miller; sister-in-laws, Pat Smart (David), Faye Mitchell (Sutt) and Barbara Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bobbye Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Miller, her parents Curtis Collins and Dorothy Ware Collins; brother, James Edward Collins and sister, Patricia Abel Sharpe; Clarence H. Miller father-in-law and Louise Carpenter Miller mother-in-law.
Graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens at 2 pm on Friday, December 18, 2020.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Horn Lake, the church home of her son, Reverend Calvin Miller. The family wishes to thank the faithful caregivers Clotee Spearman, Carolyn Edget, RonTerrica Ray, Charlene Kincaide, Jennifer Laster, Versie Welch, and Donna Roberts, who provided tender loving care throughout her later years.
Arrangements were entrusted to McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
