Obituary

Mrs. Bonita Riley Moore, 80, of Duck Hill, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada.  She was born January 17, 1940 in Duck Hill to Curtis Cleo and Jewel Kathryne O'Bryant Riley.  Bonita worked for many years as a Unit Clerk at Grenada Lake Medical Center prior to her retirement.  Bonita was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in medical mission trips and Operation Christmas Child.  Bonita was a loving mother and grandmother and will be remembered as a woman of faith and devotion to her Lord and family.

A private family service will be held at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with interment following in the Duck Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherryl McWhorter(David) of Grenada and Debo Thornburg of Duck Hill; one son, David Thornburg(Debora) of Tuscaloosa, AL; two sisters, Norma Ferrill of Madison and Linda Russell(Ray) of Leeds, AL; two brothers, H.C. Riley(Eileen) of Atlanta, GA and Randy Riley(Cindy) of Jackson, MO; six grandchildren, Sarah Dauterive(Evan), Riley McWhorter(Misty), Mary Neal(Justin), Molly Marshall(Will), Mallory McWhorter and Rachel Thornburg; five great-grandchildren, Riley Neal, Piper Neal, Owen McWhorter, Abram McWhorter and Waylon Marshall; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Moore and a sister, Janice Riley.
