Obituary

Mr. Eugene Bruce Patridge, 89, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born June 19, 1930 in Alva to Claude Winston and Georgia Mattie Dixon Patridge. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada and had honorably served our country in the US Army. Bruce spent his entire career in law enforcement, first serving 25 years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and ultimately retiring after serving as Chief Deputy of the Grenada County Sheriff's Department for 7 years.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Billy Little officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until service time Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his son, Bruce Abel Patridge(Ann) of Grenada; four grandchildren, Erin Alexander, McNeill England, William Hobson and Morgan Hobson; two great-grandchildren, Nic Donegan and Lydie Barefoot; and a step-daughter, Susan Kvasnicka of Omaha, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Ann Abel Patridge and Vivan Patridge; one sister, Ruth Brister and four brothers, Jewel, Earl Wayne, Clayton and Cole Patridge.

Pallbearers will be members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Arkell Armstrong, Weston Birdsong, Nic Donegan, William Hobson, Billy Wayne Patridge, Jimmy Patridge and Charles Scarbrough.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to his devoted caregivers, Katherine Griggs, Gwen Knox, Deborah Herron and Emma Harris for the exceptional care and attention extended to Bruce.
