Obituary

Mr. Bryan Byars DuBard, 59, of the Jefferson Community of Carroll County, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at his residence. Bryan was born September 8, 1966 in Greenwood to the late Sidney Silas DuBard and Yandel Byars DuBard. Bryan and his older brother, Keith, had a great childhood growing up in the Jefferson Community in Carroll County. They played “farm” and ran the hills wreaking havoc and joy at the same time. Several years later, a little sister, Myradel, joined the family and ruined some of the fun – she always wanted to part of the group too! Bryan enjoyed sports, especially football, and even more Ole Miss Rebel football. He was a proud graduate of Kirk Academy and enjoyed supporting them in recent years.

Bryan loved working with his hands and particularly liked woodworking. He was particularly proud that he was chosen to work on the movie set for “The Help” in the Greenwood and Carrollton areas. If you knew Bryan for any amount of time, you probably received something handmade by him. Crosses became his favorite item to make and give away. In the last several years he dedicated many of his talents to helping others through recovery because of his own journey. He volunteered tirelessly with the North Mississippi Walk to Emmaus and the Mission Men in West Point, Mississippi. He would share his recovery story with anyone who would listen – always being sure to give the glory to God for His grace and mercy.

He is survived by his mother, Yandel; sons, Will and Draven; siblings, Keith and Myradel; brother-in-law, Warren, and more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that we can name. He leaves a legacy of love and generosity for all who knew him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 5, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Brent Barker officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Friday at McKibben and Guinn.

Memorials may be directed to the North Mississippi Emmaus Community.
