IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bubba
Lehman
November 26, 1947 – March 28, 2021
Harry Daniel "Bubba" Lehman
Bubba Lehman was born on November 26, 1947, in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021.
Bubba attended high school at St. Clara Academy in Yazoo City. From 1965-1967, he attended Holmes Junior College in Goodman, Mississippi to play basketball before transferring to Mississippi State University in 1967. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State in 1969. After graduating from college, he worked at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula before moving to Grenada, Mississippi in 1974 to work with his father-in-law. Later, he owned and operated Central Heating and Air Conditioning for many years before working with Upchurch Services in Oxford, Mississippi until retiring in 2018.
Bubba was well known for his quick wit and humor. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching college baseball. His favorite outdoor activity was fishing with his wife, children, and grandchildren – as long as he caught the biggest fish! He also loved his church family and the Emmaus community and the many friendships he developed over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Mary Lehman and his mother-in law and father-in-law, James O. and Carrie Nelle Johnson. He attended First United Methodist Church in Grenada and was actively involved with the Emmaus Community for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Johnson Lehman, and his children, Olen and Kira Lehman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Carrie and Brad Cooley of Headland, Alabama. He also adored his 3 grandsons Caden Lehman, Hollis Cooley, and Mason Cooley. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Lehman, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Grenada, Mississippi. The funeral service will follow at the church at 1:00pm with burial thereafter in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Grenada, Mississippi or North Mississippi Emmaus Camp (North MS Emmaus, 12 Beach Road, Grenada, MS 38901).
