Carol Ann Trussell, 61, of Grenada, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence. She was born January 6, 1955 in Grenada to Donald Edgar, Sr. and Faye Herring Trussell. She was a graduate of Binford High School and attended Memphis State University. She had previously worked as the Director of Group Sales and Special Events at the Southland Greyhound Park and had also worked in Sales in Marketing with Smith and Nephew. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Tom Potter and the Rev. Don Trussell officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery near Gore Springs. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her mother, Faye H. Trussell of Grenada; three sisters, Donna Gordon of Grenada, Terry Ferguson of Portland, OR and Gail Moore (Travis) of Hattiesburg; one brother, Rev. Don Trussell (Cindy) of Kerrville, TX; a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs, Gracie, Happy and Lily as well as her cat, Midnight.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Edgar Trussell, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hope Animal Sanctuary, 52 County Road 241, Grenada, MS 38901.
