Carole Gay Darby Jackson
Carole went to be with her Lord Oct 15th 2015.
Carole was born in Tillatoba, Ms. Sept, 10th 1936. She graduated from Oakland High School 1954.
She was married to Billy Jackson and had 3 children Bill Jackson, Jan Labriola and Beth Theiss.
She later divorced and remarried which took the family to Houston Tx. She is grandmother of 5.
Jeff Davis, Ryan Jackson, Isabel Jackson-Alvarez, Tyler Jackson and Johann Theiss. She was a devoted mother to all her children. Carole supported them in Baseball, Basketball, Swimming, Scouts, Brownie's, Piano, sewing to name a few. Mother would never miss a game or activity that her children were in. She loved growing plants and flowers. She always had beautiful yards and flower Beds.
She followed her Football teams like Mississippi State. All her Family members graduated from
State and her Nephew Ronnie was the Bulldog Mascot. She followed all the Manning Brothers
into pro football on Sundays because they were from Mississippi. Carole loved music. She sang
I understand on the local radio station in Grenada after she graduated from high school. She enjoyed listening to Patsy Cline, Anne Murray, Tom Jones, and Engelbert Humperdinick. She even attended a Elvis concert when she was pregnant with Bill. Carole favorite activity was to spend time with her family.
She loved to cook for them and loved the holidays. She could not wait for Christmas and to see
all the surprises and smiles under the tree. Carole was seamstress and made many dresses and Halloween Costumes. She knew all the tricks in the book to get you well if you were sick. Carole liked her coffee and had to have a cigarette. She always had a pet cat or dog at her side. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. Carole may have lived in Texas a large part of her life but she was a Mississippi Girl.
Survivors include her son Bill and wife Elsa of Houston, Texas, daughter, Beth and husband Marty of Houston, Texas, and daughter Jan and husband Mark of Anna Maria, Florida, brother Harvey and wife Linda of Tillatoba, Mississippi and their children, Chanda and Patrick Darby and six grandchildren, Jeff Davis, Isabel Jackson-Alvarez, Johann Theiss, Ryan Jackson and Tyler Jackson along with her sister Elsie's children; Teresa Cutts of Decatur Al., Ronnie Martin of Brandon Ms. , Tommy Martin of Olive Branch Ms., Randy Martin of Birmingham Al., Brian Martin of Flora, Ms. and many other dear friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Grenada with Rev. Larry Windham officiating.
