Obituary

Mrs. Charleen Browning, 92, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her residence.  She was born November 8, 1931 in Greenwood to Wade and Catherine Cunningham Carver.  "Charley", as she was affectionately known, enjoyed a long career in the hospitality industry and was a member of Holcomb Baptist Church.  She loved to travel and the tranquility of reading a good book.  She deeply loved her family and friends and always had a smile and a "Love you the best" to share.  Of all the names she could be known by, "Gran" was the one she treasured most as she cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  Gran's legacy will be forever cherished and she will perpetually be "92 years loved".

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 10:00 – 11:30 AM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.  Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will be held at the Holcomb Cemetery with Randy Carver officiating.
