Mrs. Charlene Porter Burt, 87, of Duck Hill, a long-time resident of Grenada, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at her residence.  She was born July 12, 1932 at Midway to John Willie and Annie Dorilla Hood Porter.  Mrs. Burt was a devoted homemaker and operated a daycare in her home for many years.  She was a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Grenada with Rev. Sherman Barnette and Rev. Howard Beam officiating.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Renfroe(Mickey) of Bay St. Louis and Debra Henry(Barry) of Duck Hill; one son, Danny Burt(Sheila) of Grenada; daughter-in-law, Rene Burt of Grenada; five grandchildren, Lisa Holland, Jason Logan, Mickey Renfroe, Jonathan Burt and Mark Burt; ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Franklin Burt, Jr.; son, Robert Earl "Bobby" Burt; two sisters, Beatrice Harrell and Sally Foster and a brother, William Henry Porter.
