Mr. Charles Wayne Greer, Sr., 77, of Tillatoba, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1942 in Grenada to Jasper Conyers and Zelma Louise Brown Greer. While enjoying success in several entrepreneurial ventures in his lifetime, Charles was also a skilled carpenter and farmer. Charles honorably served our country in the US Army. An avid fisherman, Charles also enjoyed growing a vegetable garden each year and had a special knack for growing flowers. Charles had a special love for family, especially children, and his memory will live on in their hearts for many years to come.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Greer Family Home near Tillatoba with Rev. Brian McWhorter officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather 30 minutes prior to the service Sunday.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Greer; six daughters, Ginger Payne of Tillatoba, Marsha Smith of Tillatoba, Paige Richardson of Franklin, TN, Lori Dunn of Tillatoba, Juanita Thornhill of Hattiesburg and DeeDee Whitsell of Holcomb; six sons, Wayne Greer of Tillatoba, Charlie Greer of Tillatoba, Timmy Greer of Grenada, Dustin Greer of Brazil, Oliver Greer of Tillatoba and Sean Swain of Pope; one sister, Irene Henson of Grenada; 32 grandchildren, Ethan Greer, April Goolsby, Dallas Greer, Dakota Greer, Jonathan Coleman, Daniel Coleman, Morgan Myers, Austin Payne, Rachel Downs, Brandon Smith, Haley Taylor, Adelyn Richardson, IV Richardson, Greer Richardson, Megan Hodges, Kayla Greer, Toby Cook, Breanna White, Shelby Greer, Kaitlyn Greer, Gabriel Greer, Savanah Dunn, Annabella Dunn, Lucas Dunn, Taylor Whitsell, Sam Whitsell, Jackson Thornhill, Alyssa Thornhill, Madison Thornhill, Lucy Thornhill, Morgan Swain and Tori Swain; 23 great-grandchildren; and another grandson expected any day, Charles Benjamin Greer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Hayes Greer; three brothers, Winford, James and Billy Greer; and three grandchildren, Andrew Greer, Clayton and Destiny Whitsell.
