Obituary

Mr. Charles Quitman Sharp, 87, of Duck Hill, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born July 28, 1929 in Tallahatchie County. He was a retired farmer and had worked for many years at Pennaco Hosiery. Mr. Sharp was a member of First Baptist Church – Grenada.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Dr. Jim Nunnelee officiating. Interment will follow in the Jenkins Family Cemetery near Sumner. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joan Sharp of Duck Hill; three daughters, Debora Walker(Ronnie) of Perkinston, Elaine Boyle(Michael) of Duck Hill and Sarah Hanson(Mike) of Indianola; one sister, Ruth Coleman of Pelahatchie; one brother, Clayton Sharp of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Ron Walker, Melissa Walker(David), Elizabeth Garlington(Shawn), Daniel Walker(Pamela) and Drew Hanson(Kristin); and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Beatrice Jones and two brothers, Harris Sharp and Billy Lockley.
Pallbearers will be Michael Boyle, Shawn Garlington, Drew Hanson, Mike Hanson, Daniel Walker, Ron Walker and Ronnie Walker.
