Obituary

Mrs. Cheryl Jean (Logan) Harville passed from this life peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded and embraced by her family on October 16, 2018. She will be forever missed.

Cheryl was truly a fighter. Having defeated childhood cancer, she proudly displayed the engrained work ethic, honesty, and integrity instilled in her by her parents. Having been a generation removed from a Depression - Era upbringing, she knew well how hard times could be. Her humble and loving upbringing was a banner of pride she wore in every aspect. These characteristics awarded Cheryl with many loyal and loving friends during her life, which she cherished. Cheryl was well admired by her peers and she considered that an honor. She took great efforts in passing these traits to her children due to the respect it afforded her. Those values was imperative to her household.

Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family as much as possible. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. Moreover, she enjoyed time with her cousin, Donna Jo Taylor, whom she considered her trusted confidant. Donna's care for Cheryl throughout her life is unmeasurable. The kindness exemplified by Donna left a longstanding sense of belonging and inclusion in her.

Cheryl was a loyal and dedicated employee of Grenada Lake Medical Center for over 30 years. She cared for countless newborns in the dawn of their life and considered it a privilege to help new mothers transition into motherhood. She held this in very high regard and loved each child in her care as if it were her own.

Cheryl was a faithful member of Airport Baptist Church in the tight knit Airport Community. She loved her church and the support she received from it throughout her life.

Left to carry on Cheryl's memory is her loving husband of 42 years Ray of Grenada, one son, Jeremy (Tasha) of Hernando, MS and a daughter, Deana Kerr (Cory) of Grenada, grandchildren Noah Kerr, Austin Kerr, Connor Harville, Christian Harville, a bother, Ben Logan (Jeannie) of Grenada and numerous nieces and nephews. Her loving and loyal parents, Horace Dean Logan and Agnes Smith Logan, and a respected brother, Hershel Dean Logan, precede Cheryl in death.
