Mr. Christopher Allen Simmons, 51, of Grenada, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at his residence. Chris was born on December 20, 1974, in Grenada, to Thomas Miller Simmons and Shirley Ann Malone Simmons. He was a proud 1993 honor graduate of Grenada High School, where he found his passion for music, playing the trombone in both the Grenada High School Marching Band and the school's Jazz Band. As a young man, Chris also devoted time to Boy Scouts, where he built the values of discipline, service, and friendship that stayed with him throughout his life.
Chris was a hard worker who took pride in providing for those he loved. He spent a number of years with ADP before joining the team at Wal-Mart in Grenada, where he most recently served as an Associate. Wherever he worked, Chris was known for his steady dependability and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
When he wasn't working, Chris could often be found enjoying the great outdoors. He cherished every opportunity to go hunting, finding peace and contentment among nature. But above every hobby and pastime, nothing brought Chris more joy than the time he spent with his family. He lived for the moments shared around the table, the laughter, and the simple joys of being together.
Chris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Coffeeville, and his faith provided him comfort and guidance throughout his life.
Chris will be remembered as a wonderful son, brother, and father — a man whose greatest joy in life was found in helping others. His warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Chuck Provine officiating. Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time Friday at McKibben and Guinn.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Shirley Simmons of Grenada; daughters, Amanda Bailey Simmons and Riley Grace Simmons, both of Grenada; sister, Tommi Ann Prather(Michael) of Pace, FL; niece and nephews, Kelly Little, Jonathan Little and Nicholas Prather; and a host of extended family that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandi Simmons Little.
