Obituary
Mr. Charles Victor "Chuck" Thomas, 84, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. He was born April 2, 1937 in Vicksburg to Charles and Thelma Russum Thomas. Chuck was a graduate of Mississippi State University and had honorably served our country in the US Navy. Chuck enjoyed a long career working in Real Estate Investment/Management through TomFone and Chuck Thomas Realty & Appraisals. His innovative and entrepreneurial spirit also led him to open TomFone Communications, one of the first cellular phone providers in the area. He was an active and devoted member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada and was a member of the Grenada Kiwanis Club, serving as past President. Chuck also served as Mayor of the City of Grenada from 1980-1984. Chuck was proud to have earned his pilot's license and was an avid golfer.
Funeral services will be held
at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 29, 2021
at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends
from 1:00 PM
until service time Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Ouida Power Thomas; two daughters, Sylvia Thomas White(Ed) of Dickson, TN and Karla Victoria Thomas of Grenada, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Thomas of Oxford; five grandchildren, Joshua Thomas White(Elizabeth), Jacob Christopher White(Hannah), Sara Grace White, Charles Alexander "Alex" Thomas and Katherine Elizabeth "Katie" Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte White.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Gregory Thomas and four brothers, Edwin, Walter, Kenneth and Jesse Thomas.
Pallbearers & Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Denley, Herman Duke, Gene Goss, David Hall, Ed Hill, Randy Hodges, Mike Lovelace, Jeff Sanford, Alex Thomas, Jacob White, Joshua White & Ed White.
Memorials may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
