Obituary

Morris "Clayton" Richardson, Sr., 79, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS, surrounded by loving family members.

Clayton was born November 26, 1937 in Poplar Creek, MS to Mr. and Mrs. Chalmers H. Richardson. He was a 1955 graduate of Kilmichael High School. He then began a lifelong career in the construction industry and was a master of his profession. He was a co-founder of Richardson Brothers Contractors, where he served the Grenada and surrounding areas for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, two brothers, and one sister.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Carolyn Richardson. He was a devoted father to two sons: Marty Richardson (Andrea) and Mike Richardson. He had a loving granddaughter, Robyn Richardson Dalton (Phillip) and two precious great-granddaughters. Clayton is also survived by four siblings: Claude Richardson, Annie Mae Sanford, Allen Richardson, and Kathryn Wilson. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.

In recognition of Clayton's altruistic passion, he has chosen to participate in the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Body Donation Program. His legacy of giving will live on for future generations of health science professionals because of his decision.

Visitation will be June 2, 2017 at 9 am and a memorial ceremony will be held at 10 am at McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada, MS with Rev. Brad Herod officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in memory of Clayton be made to: Mississippi Delta Community College Development Foundation, c/o Medical Laboratory Technology Scholarship Program, P. O. Box 668 Moorhead, MS 38761.
