Mr. Curtis Durwood Liles, Sr., 84, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his residence.  He was born November 20, 1937 in Calhoun County to Woodrow Wilson and Marguerite Barnette Liles.  Mr. Liles honorably served our country in the US Navy and upon completing his service, began a life-long career in law enforcement.  Durwood spent 30 years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and also served as Chief of Police for the City of Grenada for 6 years.  He was an avid car enthusiast and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  Durwood will be remembered as a loving husband and father

A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Grenada Memorial Garden with Rev. Curt Liles officiating.  The Mississippi Highway Patrol Honor Guard rendered honors.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra Gatlin Liles; one daughter, Jennifer Liles Lindsley(Ben) of Brandon; one son, Curt Liles(Stephanie) of Grenada; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, G.A. Liles.
