Mr. Curtis Lamar Taylor, 76, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Providence Assisted Living. He was born May 29, 1948 to Oliver Jack Taylor and Marjorie Eidson Taylor. Curtis began his working career alongside his family at Jack Taylor and Sons from 1969-1983 where he served in numerous roles in the business. He later worked at Pioneer Beef Co. in Grenada. He and his wife, Nelda, founded ASM Realty and were instrumental in the construction of numerous homes in the area. Curtis was a Past-President of the Home Builders Association of Grenada. He also was an independent insurance agent while in the real estate business. Curtis was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He honorably served in the Mississippi Army National Guard for over 17 years and earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. Curtis will long be remembered as a well-respected and loved man who was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Grenada Church of God. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his daughter, Carrie Blakely(Damon) of the Red Hill Community; sister, Sandra White(Mike) of Grenada; brother, Mike Taylor(Teresa) of Ridgeland; six grandchildren, Devin Cooper(Anna), Jessica Parks(Drew), Taylor Heineck, Curtis Heineck, Jackson Kennedy and Belle Kennedy and 11 great-grandchildren, Allyeana, Zoey, Kendall, Isabella and Praisley Cooper, Brylee and Jaycee Parks, Jeremiah and Remington Moyers, Kamila Brower and Mayleigh Heineck.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nelda Taylor; daughter, Leigh Allison Taylor and a sister, Carol Cummins.
Pallbearers will be Damon Blakely, Devin Cooper, Curtis Heineck, Drew Parks, Mark Taylor and Wayne Taylor.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of Providence Assisted Living and Adoration Home Health and Hospice for the love and exceptional care they extended to Curtis.
