Mr. Curtis Powell Turner, 86, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.  He was born February 19, 1937 in Tallahatchie County to P.A. and Mattie B. Cole Turner.  Curtis worked in the Brazing Department at Heatcraft for over 42 years and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Curtis was a hard worker and was always willing to help someone in need. Curtis was a faithful husband for 67 years and a loving father for 64 years. He will be missed by all that called family of friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada with Rev. Eugene Heimbach and Rev. Barry Worrell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery near Enid.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ivy Elizabeth Mabus Turner; two sons, Randy Turner of Duck Hill, and Tim Turner (Tara) of Oxford; one sister, Diane Turner Cook(William) of Oakland; brother, Jerry Turner(Janette) of Flowood; four grandchildren, Jessica McRee, Michael Turner, Megan Turner, and Mary Bridges and six great-grandchildren, Marisol Turner, Dawson Turner, Preslee Turner, Jude Bridges, Jack Edwards, and Luke Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra McRee; sister, Callie Turner and a brother, Charles Turner.

Pallbearers will be Randy Turner, Michael Turner, Kevin Hardy, Will Cook, John Cook, Bobby Heath, Sykes Wood, and Tim Turner.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
