IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Danny
Sultan
January 3, 1964 – August 20, 2023
Mr. Robert Daniel "Danny" Sultan 59, of Edwardsburg Michigan, formerly of Grenada, passed away Sunday, August 20th, 2023 in Libertyville, IL.
Danny attended school at Kirk Academy where he excelled in academics and athletics. He had many fond memories of playing football, baseball, running track and pole vaulting with his lifelong friends. He continued his education at Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a double major in Accounting and Finance. He started his career with Ernst and Young in Memphis, Tennessee as a bond consultant. He later moved to Chicago to pursue a career in banking. Danny held positions with several financial institutions resulting in a string of promotions and different titles throughout his career. He concluded his work career in 2014 after spending ten years with U.S. Bank as Senior Vice President. Danny played an integral role in structuring syndicated deals for large commercial borrowers. He was consistently a top performer throughout his career.
Soon after his move to Chicago, Danny met his wife and best friend, Ana Larocca. Ana and Danny were a perfect match. They both had many things in common and were always living life to the fullest. They enjoyed each other's company and traveled the world together. Sadly, this wonderful life they were sharing would take a tragic turn as Ana became ill with a disease known as ALS. Danny stood by her side through several long and painful years until her death in 2014. He was faithful, loving, and a devoted husband who loved her to the very end.
After many years of grieving the loss of Ana, God sent another perfect match for Danny, Molly Ferrell. Danny and Molly hit it off and their love for each other began to grow. Molly is from Chicago and has three wonderful children, Griffin, McKenzie, and Nolan. Danny loved Molly's children dearly and his selfless love was evident to them all. They would all share many special moments at Danny's cabin in Michigan with snowmobile trips and just good family fun. Molly's family came to know Danny as a great man with a big heart who loved and cherished Molly. Danny had plans to live out his dream of marrying Molly and traveling the world together in an RV.
Danny was diagnosed with his illness in May of 2022, and he saw his dream suddenly begin to fade. Molly with a heart of love for Danny and her faith in God, stood strong by his side in a fight against this illness. Molly was steadfast in her love for Danny and took care of him no matter what the conditions were. Molly is a very special woman, and we are so thankful for her being a Godly, loving, caring fiancé, and best friend to Danny. Molly and Danny's love for each other was unwavering until the end when he succumbed to his illness. Danny's life is an example of loyalty, love, and caring for others above yourself regardless of the circumstances in life.
Funeral services to celebrate Danny's treasured life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Joey Faulk officiating.
