Obituary

Daniel Glen "Danny" Threadgill, 67, of Duck Hill, Mississippi, passed away at his home on April 21, 2025. Born July 22, 1957, in Calhoun City, MS, Danny embodied the spirit of adventure from an early age, his animated jokes and quick wit could brighten any room he entered.

Danny answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1985. He earned his wings as an Airborne Artilleryman with the 82nd Airborne Division and later the 139th Field Artillery Brigade at Fort Bragg, NC. His military career took him north to Fort Richardson, Anchorage, AK, where he served in the 6th Arctic Division's 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Artillery. During two back-to-back tours, Danny completed 68 career parachute jumps, each jump a testament to his fearless thrill-seeking nature.

Danny's free spirit was evident early in life through competitive barrel racing, but he then decided the sky offered a bigger thrill. As a talented musician he made sure every wild adventure had the perfect soundtrack. He found a deep love for Alaska's wilderness, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and sharing its vast beauty with his children. He was a friend for life, loved cheering on his grandchildren, and sharing his limitless love. In recent years, he and his wife found joy in karaoke nights, LCR games, and fishing adventures.

Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra Threadgill; his mother, Yvonna Threadgill; his children, Kalem Threadgill (Crystal) and Bethney Erin Sprouse (Rick); grandchildren Ben & Liam Threadgill, Baleigh Sprouse, and Kearsey McNease; siblings Adrian Threadgill (Missy), John Threadgill (Beverly), and Ben Threadgill (Faranak); and step-children Jason Martin (Lauren) and Josh Martin, along with step-grandchildren Shelby, Olivia, and Martha, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian Davis Threadgill; brother, Mark Threadgill; and grandson, John Cohen Crump.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Old School House in Gore Springs, MS, on Saturday, May 10th at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, honoring Danny's courageous grandson. He leaves behind memories of daring adventures, generous spirit, and laughter that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
