Mr. Dave Craig Hovey, 82, of Coffeeville, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 9, 1937 in Minot, ND to David Flint and Wilda Underwood Hovey. Dave spent most of his working life building radio and television towers all over the United States and abroad. He honorably served our country in the US Navy. A voracious reader, Dave had published two of his novels and contributed greatly to the Yalobusha Historical Society where he was a member. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and in his earlier years enjoyed racing motorcycles. Dave could always be found with a smile and outstretched hand, willing to help anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Yalobusha Historical Society Headquarters (formerly Coffeeville Presbyterian Church) with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Private burial will follow in the Harbour Cemetery near Coffeeville.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Emma Ruth Dawkins Hovey; one son, Jon Hovey of Oxford; brother, Jon Clark Hovey of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Amanda Rochelle Hovey and Joshua Jon Hovey; and a great-grandchild, Jonathan Daniel Cothern.
