Mr. David Austin Barton, 60, of Hohenwald, TN, formerly of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1955 in Cleveland, MS to Rev. Martin Cooper and Melba Lee Thrash Barton. David spent a lifetime spreading the love of Christ through his many kind gestures and his sweet spirit. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his church families at both First Baptist Church in Hohenwald and Coffeeville.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Bro. Bert Spann officiating. Interment will follow in the Barton family plot at Goshen Cemetery near Coffeeville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Survivors include one sister, Mary McRight and her husband, David of Hohenwald, TN; one brother, Charles Barton of Goodlettsville, TN; six nephews, Jonathan McRight of Florida, Mark LaRue (Kimsey) of Arlington, TN, Terry LaRue (Allison) of Memphis, TN, Kenny LaRue of Paris, TN, Anthony Barton of Goodlettsville, TN, and Josh Barton of Memphis, TN; three nieces, Angel Barton of Goodlettsville, TN, Andrea Barton Halvorson (Bob) of Nashville, TN and Amanda Relyea (Joe) of Nolensville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cynthia LaRue and Doris Jean Barton; and a brother, Ray Barton.
Family and close friends will honor David by serving as pallbearers.
