Mr. Durrett "Deeby" Barnes Sayle Peeples, 76, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford.

Deeby was a lifelong resident of Coffeeville and is survived by his daughter, Penelope "Penny" Peeples of Memphis, brothers, Ralph Lawrence Peeples(Martha Ann) of Brookhaven and Bradley Stuart Peeples of Coffeeville and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Wagner and Elma Sayle Peeples, sisters, Patricia "Chip" Peeples Covington, Elaine Peeples Boyle and Flavia "Toots" Peeples Waddell.

Deeby retired from the United States Army as a Captain where he was a Green Beret, 101 ^st Airborne, Special Forces, Army Ranger and OCS graduate.  He served two tours in the Vietnam War.

He graduated from The University of Mississippi and loved watching all Ole Miss Rebels sports.  He was a member of the Coffeeville United Methodist Church.

Due to current circumstances, a private graveside service will be held at the Coffeeville Cemetery led by Pastor Stacy Douglas.
