Dennis Frank Carver, 64, of Holcomb, Mississippi, went to be with our heavenly father on October 20, 2021. Dennis was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 19, 1957. He resided in Memphis throughout his childhood before moving to Mississippi prior to beginning his high school and college career. Dennis graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in Education. He was an avid sports fan who loved playing and coaching baseball throughout his youth. Following his career in education, Dennis worked as a driver for his uncle's logging company.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Lauren Carver, grandson, Daymion Carver, sister, Ren Whitsitt, several beloved nieces and nephews, and many cherished cousins. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Carver and Emogene Goodson Reynolds. Affectionately known to family and friends as "Shug," Dennis will forever be remembered for his easygoing, good-natured personality, impressive knack for recalling sports statistics, and natural ability to put everyone around him at ease.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, October 23, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Home in Grenada, Mississippi. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at the Holcomb Cemetery in Holcomb, Mississippi. The family requests that memorials be sent to the charitable organization of the donor's choosing.
