Diane Moore Lyon (Gammie) was called to her heavenly home by our Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of May 16th in Tulsa, OK. She was born in Louisville, MS but was raised in Oakland, MS by her grandparents, Benjamin Carson Moore and "Miss Carrie" Nance Moore.
Diane dedicated her adult life to her children. Whether it was Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Baseball or Softball, she was there. She was a proud mama and her children were very blessed. She worked for many years at Grenada County Hospital, Sunburst Bank and after retirement, went on to work part time at Regions Bank.
She is survived by her three children, Terry Lyon and his wife, Kathy of Grenada, Steve Lyon of Culver City, CA and Caroline Lyon of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Garnet Holt, Cricket Harris, Benjamin Lyon and Meagan Ives; five great-grandchildren and a very dear cousin, Barry Moore Gillespie along with a host of friends who thought the world of her.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Clytee Peters Moore who passed away just eight days after she was born in 1935 and later by her father, John Benjamin Moore who passed away in 1971.
She was a member of Lakewood Methodist Church in Grenada.
Diane will be laid to rest in a graveside service in the Oakland Cemetery at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016. Rev. Rickey Harris will officiate. There will be no visitation, but all are welcome at the graveside service.
