Mr. Herman Donald Sultan, 78, of Grenada, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at his home. He was born June 5, 1939 in Gore Springs to Fred Daniel and Bessie Hemphill Sultan. He was a long-time businessman and a lifetime car salesman. Donald had been in the car business for over 40 years. He was a dear friend to many and always willing to help anyone in need. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Gore Springs Hunting Club where he served as President for several years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Faulk, Dr. Brent Barker, Rev. Eugene Heimbach and Rev. Bernette Fielder officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gay Hames Sultan; son, Donnie Sultan; two step-sons, Gary and Jerry Hames; grandsons, Jonathan Sultan (Lauren), Colby Sultan (Leslie) and Taylor Sultan; two great-granddaughters, Charlee Grace and Joleigh Sultan and two sisters, Learline Sultan Abel and Nannie Mae Sultan Reeves.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Samuel; brother, Algeon C. Sultan and a step-son, Tommy Hames.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sultan, Colby Sultan, Taylor Sultan, Ricky Reeves, E.G. Able, Danny Sultan and Steve Sultan.

Memorials may be directed to the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
