Mr. Edmond Junior Proffer, 96, of Grenada, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at his residence.  He was born September 23, 1925 in Oklahoma.  Mr. Proffer honorably served our country in the United States Coast Guard retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.  He enjoyed managing a bar at a resort in Lodi, CA before moving back to Mississippi.  Mr. Proffer had enjoyed many successful business ventures through the years.  Being a member of the "Greatest Generation", he knew the value of hard work and determination.  Well into his 70s, he taught himself how to publish a website and founded his online business, Flintski Jewelry, which continues to ship jewelry all over the world today.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.  Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Rosebloom.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday evening and one hour prior to the service Tuesday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include four sons, Dennis Proffer of Grenada, Larry Proffer(Judy) of Hixson, TN, Earl Earley of Southaven and Richard Wells, Jr. of Gulfport; three daughters, Susan Hensel(Douglas) of Lodi, CA, Vicki Earley of Southaven and Jane Jones of Knoxville, TN; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Grace Proffer; son, Mike Ward; sister, Jewel White and a brother, Dean Proffer.
