Mrs. Ella Mae Blaylock Snell, 97, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center – Grenada. She was born March 26, 1918 in Carroll County, MS to Rude Earl and Laura Meadows Blaylock. She was a homemaker, retired nurse's aide and a member of Elliott Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 17, 2015 from the Chapel of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Larry Brinker and Rev. Franklin Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include five sons, Norman Douglas Snell, Charles E. Snell, Thomas Lane Snell, Ronnie Snell and Donnie Snell, all of Grenada; one sister, Annie Laura Hicks of Grenada; one brother, Paul Blaylock of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris Lane Snell; and four daughters, Peggy Snell Grant, Sarah Snell Lacomb, Opal Steadman and Nellie Steadman.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Blaylock, Lynn Blaylock, Elgene Brannon, Jr., Daniel Melton, Steve Morgan and Jimmy Perry.
Memorials may be directed to the Elliott Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
