Mr. Eris Curtis Carlton, 83, of Oxford, formerly of Grenada, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Mississippi State Veteran's Home in Oxford. He was born November 2, 1932 in Winona to John Abner and Annie Ezell Carlton. He had worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for over 38 years at Heatcraft in Grenada formerly known as McQuay's. Mr. Carlton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grenada and the Grenada Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 30, 2016 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary H. Carlton; one son, David C. Carlton and his wife, Cheryl of Carlsbad, CA; two sisters, Ruby Gould of Carl Junction, MO and Belinda Kay Strong of Grenada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenneth Curtis Carlton.
