Mrs. Evelyn Nelson Huffman, 93, of Holcomb, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 1, 1925 in Charleston to Riley and Lelo Gray Nelson. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Huffman was also a cattle farmer and operated commercial poultry houses for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 1, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church in the Oxberry Community of Grenada County with Rev. Millard Caulder officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Huffman of Arkansas and a grandson, Tim Murphree of Tippo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James "Peck" Huffman; daughter, Judy Murphree; son, Charles Edward "Sonny" Huffman; and two sisters, Janie Lilly and Lizzie Bess Young.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Caulder, Travis Frazier, Mike Moncrief, Alex Smith, Keith Smith and Greg Staten.
