Mrs. Dorothy Faye Herbert Collins Oakes, 93, of Grenada, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at Providence Assisted Living.  She was born March 31, 1929 in Carroll County to George Alexander and Mattie Marie "Doll" Corley Herbert.  Faye graduated from Calvary School in Carroll County and was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.  She was a co-founder and lifetime member of the Bethel Perpetual Cemetery Fund Committee.  Faye worked in Sales at the Novelty Shop for over 20 years prior to her retirement.

A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Additionally, a service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Bob Canizzaro and Rev. Janie Mortimer officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Saturday, September 10, 2022 at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include a brother, William G. Herbert of Alcolu, SC; step-son, Jerry Collins of Magnolia Springs, AL; nieces, Brenda Bankston(Ross) of Grenada, Melissa Lynch(Neal) of Alcolu, SC and Rebecca Gayle Barwick(Trey) of Ankery, IA; grandchildren, Ashley Menefee(Bill) and Kelleigh Cassity(Matt) and a great-niece, Laurie Cooper(Whit).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Royce H. Collins and Harris G. Oakes; and a sister, Frances Eleanor DeLoach.

Pallbearers will be Ross Bankston, Billy Clifton, David Clifton, Robert Clifton, Whit Cooper and Mitch Mitchell.
