Mrs. Faye Summers, 94, a lifelong resident of the Benwood community and the widow of Frank Summers, Jr., died at her residence Tuesday, April 13, 2021.  She was born to the late Robert Jackson (Rob) Murphree and Lenna Boyle Murphree, May 7, 1926.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.  She possessed a keen mind and a remarkable memory, she was an asset to persons interested in genealogy research.  Faye was a person of many talents and especially enjoyed making and giving away beautiful quilts.  She dearly loved her family (extending to cousins, nieces and nephews), her neighbors and her many friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Carol McKibben of Water Valley and Glenda Ruth Davis of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Heather Sullivan, Bobby Summers, Rebecca Hurt, Josh Davis, Zack Davis and Elizabeth McDougal; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Scobey of Coffeeville; two nephews, David Scobey and Mark Scobey, both of Coffeeville; and a dear special friend, Carol Howell of Coffeeville.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her son, Robert Dewey (Bobby) Summers.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 16, 2021 at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Coffeeville with Rev. Billy Hill officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service Friday at New Hope Baptist Church.

Josh Davis, Little Josh Davis, Zack Davis, Samy McCracken, Bobby Summers and Tate Summers will honor Faye by serving as pallbearers.  David Scobey and Mark Scobey will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
