Mr. Fisher Crawford, Jr., 84, of Grenada, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his wife and children. He retired as former co-owner of Mid-South Produce Company in Grenada. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Crawford and his wife, Dale, joined the First United Methodist Church when Bro. Felix Sutphin was pastor. They both headed the Family Ministry while under the ministry of Bro. Jack Smith.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Dale Crawford; two daughters, Karol Crawford Haley of Grenada and Lisa Alford and her husband, Phillip, also of Grenada; one son, Thomas Fisher "Tommy" Crawford and his wife, Betty of Hernando; a brother, James "Jib" Crawford of Grenada; two sisters, Pat Cook and Jean Overall of Sledge, MS; six grandchildren, Christy Caulder and Ben Gillon of Grenada, Stephanie Edmondson of Nashville, TN, Cory Crawford of Fulton, Jessica Montz of Oxford and TSGT Robert "River" Hemingway of San Antonio, TX; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fisher Crawford, Sr., Earl and Annie Elizabeth Avant Carroll; three brothers, A.F. Crawford, Lawrence Crawford and Billy Crawford; and three sisters, Mary Oswalt, Ruby Ferguson and Scarlett Willoughby.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Grenada with Rev. Jack Smith, Rev. J.C. Hubbard and Rev. Tom Potter officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time Thursday at the church.
