Mrs. Flora Rebecca Evans Welch, 90, a long-time resident of Holcomb, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born July 27, 1928 in Sledge to Rowe and Annie Eliza Evans. Mrs. Welch was a devoted homemaker, member of Hillside Baptist Church and was a very talented quilter. Her sweet, caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry McNeer officiating. Interment will follow in the Leflore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service Thursday all at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Ward of Holcomb; two sons, Bob Welch(Mary) of Leflore and Randy Welch(Linda) of Holcomb; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar William Welch; two daughters, Lula Young and Nettie Minyard; two sons, Bud Welch and Charles Edward Welch and a granddaughter, Tina Minyard Robertson.

Pallbearers will be Josh Connerley, Mickey Miller, Gordon Minyard, Chris Robertson, Daniel Simpson and Jason Whitsell.
